Are you wanting to paint an African American reborn vinyl doll? Or what about a lighter toned Biracial Reborn Doll Kit? Maybe you need a different type of ethnic reborn doll paint to paint an entirely different ethnic group.

If so, then this airdry paint set will cover a broad range of skin colors from very dark to a warm beautiful latte tone. When painting ethnic reborn dolls avoid limiting yourself to stereotypical colors. Skin coloring within each ethnic group encompasses the whole flesh tone spectrum. In other words, Native American skin is not made up of predominately red tones, while black skin is not made predominately of black. In fact, most African American skin leans toward brown tones, varying from dark to light.

Within the skin of each individual there is significant variance in the tone of the skin from one area to another. However, when speaking about an individual piece, that is a specific doll rather than a group as a whole, we begin to be able to identify certain skin color types that will allow us to choose specific paint color families while allowing for a great spectrum of diversity.

Pairing Flesh Tone with Undertones

When painting a Biracial reborn doll, lighter shades of flesh predominate. Flesh tones 5,6,7, or 8 are what you want to use as your primary flesh colors, inter blending the paints to create the specific tone that you have in mind. Generally, the lighter biracial reborn doll kit colors are warm and are painted to portray skin with predominantly yellow undertones,

Darker skin tones are generally cool and are best painted with Flesh 2, Flesh 3, and Flesh 4, Black should not be used as a main skin color by itself. Black should only be used vary sparingly to mix into paint, if at all, if you need to darken a mix, you would be better served to utilize umber colors. If you are going to use black in painting your ethnic doll kits, reserve it for painting hair and eyebrows on the darker skin types within any ethnic group.

Undertones in the darker AA reborn dolls lean generally toward the bluish reds and the plums.  Both biracial reborn dolls and AA dolls, can contain blue undertones, with newborn infant dolls having the greater amounts of blue undertones.

These guidelines are not expected to cover every situation. Instead they are meant as a jumping off point to guide you in choosing your own colors when painting ethnic reborn doll kits.
